Privacy & POPIA

How your information is handled.

Plain language, no legal padding. This note explains what is collected when you contact Altasero, why, how long it is kept, and what you can ask for. It is written to meet South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Last updated: January 2026

Who is responsible for your information

Altasero is a South African software studio operated by Shezad Satter (Founder, Altasero). Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), Shezad Satter is the responsible party for the personal information described below.

Privacy questions, access requests and complaints: altasero@outlook.com. Requests are answered within one working day where possible.

What is collected, and why

If you send the contact form, the only information collected is your name, an email address or WhatsApp number, and the message you write. It is used for one purpose only: to reply to you and, if you become a client, to work with you.

If you message on WhatsApp or phone the number on this site, WhatsApp (operated by Meta) and your network provider handle that conversation under their own terms. Nothing from those conversations is imported into a mailing list or a CRM.

The hosting provider records standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser and requested page) when a page is served. These are used only for security and reliability.

The lawful basis

Enquiries are processed on the basis of the consent you give when you tick the box on the contact form, and on the legitimate interest of replying to someone who has asked for a reply. Providing your details is voluntary, but without a way to contact you a reply is not possible.

Who else sees it

Personal information is never sold, rented or shared for advertising. It is only handled by the service providers needed to run this site and to receive your message — currently the hosting provider (Vercel), and, when they are switched on, the email delivery provider (Resend) and Cloudflare Turnstile for the contact form's anti-spam check. Each is restricted to processing the data on instruction.

The contact form's anti-spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile) processes your IP address for that single check, to confirm the submission came from a person. That address is not used for profiling, advertising or marketing, and is not stored by this site.

There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this site, and no social media pixels.

How long it is kept

Enquiry messages are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted, unless you become a client, in which case records are kept for as long as needed to deliver the work and to meet South African legal and tax requirements. You can ask for your enquiry to be deleted sooner.

Your rights under POPIA

You may ask what personal information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to processing, or withdraw consent at any time. Send the request to altasero@outlook.com and it will be actioned.

If you believe your information has not been handled lawfully, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za, complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za, or 010 023 5200.

How it is protected

The site is served over HTTPS. Personal information is limited to what is needed to reply to you, access to it is restricted to Shezad Satter, credentials are held outside the codebase, and the contact form is rate-limited.

No system is perfect. If a data breach ever affects your information, you will be notified as required by POPIA.

Cookies and local storage

No tracking cookies are set. One browser preference — whether you chose the light or dark theme — is stored locally in your own browser. It never leaves your device and you can clear it at any time.

This site is not aimed at children

The services offered here are aimed at business owners and professionals. Personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 18.
